Proverbs 28:1The wicked flee when no man pursueth; But the righteous are bold as a lion.

This is something that can be (and is) understood in a literal, physical sense. Those who are guilty continually look over their shoulder to see who is following them; if one feels the slightest hint of another following or scoping them out, the wicked flee and/or engage in movements of a defense posture. The righteous, on the other hand, presses on with life because the life lived does not engage in a behavior that puts oneself in a defense posture, always scanning the environment for someone who wants to leap and overcome because their wickedness is coming back to haunt them.
