RUBBER AND THE ROAD

Proverbs 7:1-3. My son, keep my words, And lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments and live; And my law as the apple of thine eye. Bind them upon thy fingers; Write them upon the tablet of thy heart. This seems rather simple, easy to understand, the application should not be too difficult. Yet, it is difficult. The difficulty is not associated with understanding what is said, but only with a willingness to put into play the exhortations. The commands belong to Him who is the essence of righteousness, the way of holiness, which is the way of the Lord. To make use of an old phrase, this is where the rubber meets the road. Will the tread of the heart grab hold of the road that is straight?
